Sonia the hedgehog returns to her safer garden

We're delighted to share that Sonia, a lovely hedgehog who was found stuck in a fence in a garden in Newtongrange, Edinburgh, has gone home.

Sonia was spotted by Sylvia, who managed to free her and then called us for advice. Because Sonia had been trapped, she was in danger of developing post restriction injuries, and Sylvia wasn't sure how long she had been stuck for. We advised Sylvia to bring her over to us.

Thankfully there were no wounds on Sonia, but she did have lungworm. Once she was warm, settled and hydrated, her treatment began. Sonia was a dream in the rescue, settled very well and loved her food.

Sonia has now returned to her garden, which has been made safer, with a nest box and food and water available to her. Stay safe, Sonia.
