We had two releases lately, and first up was Michael. A couple of weeks ago he went back to Dunfermline, to Susan and Steve and their lovely hedgehog friendly garden.
Michael came to us on the 13th August after the cheeky little fella walked into a kitchen one lunchtime and started to attempt to eat one of the dog's chew bones. Carolyne was upstairs at the time and heard a strange sound. Creeping down the stairs, she was shocked to find a hedgehog in her kitchen.
Michael weighed only 260g and was suffering from ringworm and multiple parasites. No wonder he had snuck in looking for food, warmth and comfort.
We named him after the angel Michael, as he was our seventh hundred and seventy seventh hedgehog admitted into the rescue and he was even in hutch 7. He really was a little angel who took everything in his stride. His skin and parasite treatments went well and he loved his kitten biscuits.
Michael left us weighing a very healthy 1,153g. Stay safe, Michael. Thank you, Carolyne, for seeking help rather than just putting him outside to send him on his way, and thank you to Susan and Steve for giving Michael a safe release garden and nest box.
