Fred the hedgehog is released after a daytime rescue

We are delighted to share that Fred has been released. He came to us after Jackie Broadley and Simone spotted him out one afternoon in Burntisland. Knowing a hedgehog shouldn't be out in the day, Simone gave us a call.

Little Fred arrived in the perfect box. He weighed only 283g, so he was far too small to be out on his own. Poor Fred was suffering from roundworm and lungworm, but his treatment went well and he was released weighing 802g.

A big thank you to Tam for offering your garden as a release site for Fred. He has a nest box there, and food and water are available daily. And thank you so much to Jackie and Simone for acting so quickly and scooping Fred up.
