Staff at Asda in Dalgety Bay found themselves in an unexpected rescue operation when they discovered a hedgehog in distress near their store. Concerned for the animal’s welfare, they contacted Burntisland Hedgehog Haven for expert advice. The hedgehog, now affectionately named Otto, was promptly taken into care and spent three days in an incubator due to his condition. Asda’s community champion, Alana Brown, and the team provided initial care by securing Otto with a blanket and water until help arrived. Otto is currently receiving treatment with hopes of returning to the wild soon. The team at the rescue centre has expressed their gratitude towards the Asda staff for their timely and compassionate response.
