National Pet Awards Finalist – Vote Now!

Burntisland Hedgehog Haven has reached a major milestone. We have been named a finalist for Animal Charity of the Year at the National Pet Awards Scotland 2026.

This recognition is a testament to the incredible work carried out by the team over the past three years, caring for injured, sick and vulnerable hedgehogs across the local area. From emergency rescues to rehabilitation and release, the charity has become a vital lifeline for one of the UK’s most at-risk native species.

Public Vote Will Decide the Winner

Unlike many awards, the winner is decided entirely by public vote, meaning the community now has the opportunity to play a direct role in helping Burntisland Hedgehog Haven secure this prestigious title.

Voting is now officially open and will remain live for 10 days, with every single vote making a genuine difference.

A Community Effort

Reaching the finalist stage is not just a recognition of the charity itself, but of the wider community that supports it.

From volunteers and Hogbulance drivers to local residents who rescue hedgehogs in need, this nomination reflects a collective effort. Donations, supplies, shared posts and simple acts of kindness have all helped Burntisland Hedgehog Haven grow into the organisation it is today.

Why This Matters

Hedgehog populations across the UK have been in decline for years, making local rescue centres more important than ever. Facilities like Burntisland Hedgehog Haven provide essential care, advice and rehabilitation that directly contributes to the survival of these animals.

Winning Animal Charity of the Year would not only recognise the hard work already being done, but also help raise awareness and support for future efforts.
