I found a Hedgehog "What should I do?"

Remember..... " A hedgehog out in the day is not OK!!

If you find a hedgehog out in the day the majority of the time it indicates there is something wrong. The only exception to this is if a female may have hoglets in the nest and if you spot her out and she looks like she's on a mission she's more than likely out getting food or nesting materials.
At all other times please ring or message us for advice as 90% of the time they need to be bought into the rescue for a checkover straight away.
They do not sunbathe or hibernate out in the open as so many people seem to believe.
We see so many hedgehogs that come in and the finder found them several hours earlier or even the day before. Then sees them again later  in the same place a good deal later, then decides there may be something wrong  so then decides to contact us by which time it can be too late and the damage internally has already been done making our job so much more difficult.
Please seek advice striaghtaway.
Never offer food but just water and again please phone a rescue for help!
