Today, we attended a meeting of the Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee at the Scottish Parliament to hear our petition discussed.

We are delighted to announce that our petition calling for the introduction of Small Animal Warning Signs will remain open and progress to the next stage! 🎉👏🏻🦔

This is another positive step towards improving road safety for hedgehogs and other small animals across Scotland. These warning signs could help raise awareness among drivers, encourage people to slow down and ultimately prevent more animals from being injured or killed on our roads.

We would like to thank everyone who has signed and shared the petition or supported our campaign so far. Your support has helped us reach this important stage, but our work is not finished.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers Marian, Linda and Allie for taking the time to join us at the Scottish Parliament.

We must also thank Pat and Elizabeth for holding the fort and caring for all the hedgehogs back at the rescue while we attended the meeting.

It was lovely to have Ballumbie Hedgehog Rescue there to show their support for the campaign, and we are very grateful to our lovely friend Eliza for showing us around the Scottish Parliament and joining us for lunch.

Today was an encouraging moment for everyone involved in this campaign. We will keep pushing for greater awareness and better protection for Scotland’s hedgehogs and will share another update when we learn more about the petition’s next stage.
